JUANCARLO TOLEDO'S LIMANG DALIRI

JUANCARLO TOLEDO.Juan Carlo de guzman Toledo. Poet, visual artist, culinary expert. Has illustrated for various independent publishers and is currently active in the anti-gallery exhibition circuit, bringing "art closer to the drinking masses."

A self-professed surrealist at heart, Carlo normally works in watercolor or oil pastel on paper, having grown intimate with the medium for its inherent economy and flexibility.

His works are mostly defined by bold dynamic lines and geometric patterns of deep color oftentimes animated by an almost poetic sense of dread and humor: symbols as visual commentary on the great existential predicament.

The collection dutifully featured here (with sizes ranging from A4 and A5) was personally chosen and assembled by the artist from his 12-piece exhibit entitled "Limang Daliri" (Five Fingers), his first month-long major exhibit to date.

For those who care to know: Carlo plays guitar for the acoustic rock duo Genius Envy and whips a mean Kapampangan salad between stations. His poetry is also featured in this website.
