RIGOR MORTIS: SKETCHES FOR AN IMAGINARY ROCK ALBUM

Rigor Mortis. Sixty-six year old chain-smoking freelance illustrator of "rare books for blind cooks." Used to play the ululator for the short-lived, old skool, flash-in-the-pan, lo-fi rock-ensemble Sodom: "Man, this was fucking ages ago." Boasts having intimate personal knowledge of the only surviving true recipe for homemade LSD: "Haven't tried the shit though." Has self-staged many exhibits mostly on sidewalks and alleyways "too fucking many to mention." Is a certified carnivore, true and through: "Vegetables give me green diarrhea." Has never really married although he thinks he has many "seeds" in many places 'too fucking many to mention.' Looks foreword to "sixty-six more years of unhealthy living: What makes man man? Sin."

The following sketches— 'doodles,' he calls them— were supposed to be "studies" he has made in 1972, exploring the visual possibilities of a multi-paneled, multi-layered album jacket for Sodom's now long abandoned attempt at recording a legal LP. "The idea was to illustrate each song. We had 16 good ones, so I made 16 doodles in all, one for every cut. Still got eight doodles with me. The rest... fuck the rest! I must have ate the rest. Now do you want them or not?" Rigor swears this will not be his first and last appearance on spread.
